Kathmandu. Nepali Congress senior leader Ramchandra Paidel has been elected as the President.

From the voting held on Thursday, Padel Republic has won the third president of Nepal. 

Poudel got 33802 votes. His opponent, Subas Nemwang, vice president of CPN-UML, got 15518 votes. 313 federal MPs and 518 provincial assembly members participated in the voting.

National Independent Party (RASWPA) also supported Paidel, the common candidate of the 9-party alliance. Nemwang went to the election field alone.

RPPA and NEMKIPA did not participate in the presidential election.
